manuals are for chumps.

I don't like to read manuals for electronics. My theory is: if I want to use it, I'll find it on my own. This is this case with my laptop. I have a Macbook and I lovvvvve it. I think it's the best laptop evaaa. So I only tried using a Mac once before I got mine. I'll be honest, I only choose this laptop because it came with a free iPod touch and I love iPods to no end so it was a no brainer.
Free iPod = Meghan receiving a Macbook for school.
When it finally came in the mail I opened it up and the only directions I read were the ones that told me how to turn it on and how to set it up. The rest I was like whatevs I'll figure it out. And I did and I LOVE it.

Did you know you can take pictures of the screen? I've heard it called screen shot or something like that. I've srsly tried looking for it a million times. Well, I FOUND IT and I'm quite proud of myself. Took me a little bit, but I found it.
Case and point:
Photobucket

I was pretty pumped I found it =)

Another occasion where I'm pretty dang good at finding things. I just got the enV3. I knew how to find the most important thing, text messaging. That was a no brainer. I'm pretty good at finding that feature on all phones. It's a special skill I have. But I knew you could upload music onto the phone. With the help of my friend, we were able to figure out what was required to put the music on. I went home and figured it out. It was very easy and I didn't need to read one instruction booklet.

So there you have it, I'm a technological genius*

Who needs a manual to find stuff? ;)

*I am not. I draw the line at cellphones and random things on my laptop

"things I think are lamespice"

I read a post over at Busy Bee Lauren's blog where she did a list of things she hates, but the rest of the world loves. She tagged it so now I'm going to do one myself! And she did this a long time ago (7/8) but I'm a slow blogger so I just finished my list, hahaha! Without further ado:

"Things I don't like that other people happen to love"

1. Writing
I know. It's ironic that I write a blog, but hate writing. I hate having to form an essay on a subject I'd rather not talk about. There are rare occasions where I get to write whatever I want and I don't mind writing, but writing for school where research is involved is the WORST. I know a lot of people who actually like to write, ehh.

2. Skirts
I can never find one that looks right on me! I have two, but NEVER wear them because they don't fit right and I can't figure out when I should wear them. I LOVE dresses though, unfortunately I don't own any cute summer ones at the moment.

3. Basketball
I'm not the biggest fan of sports in general. I mean I support the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, but any other team I couldn't give two hoots about. Basketball I especially share this dislike of. And would you know it I'm 5'8'' was asked by my gym teacher a few times if I thought of playing at all, and still have a complete dislike of it!

4. Michael Jackson
Don't get me started... Creeped me out when he was alive, creeps me out even more now.

5. Dogs
Ok, I don't hate dogs per say, but what I do hate is the drool and the clean up in the yard. They're sort of gross.

6. Willy Wonka/ Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
I don't know if anyone loves this movie or the remake, but I happen to strongly dislike both of them. Two things: 1) Oompa Loompas and 2) Johnny Depp.
1) freaks me out in the worst way. Can't stand anything to do with them. My friends know this and we don't speak of them, the movie, or Golden tickets *cringe*
2) he's just super creepy in the remake. I've only watched a little bit of it. The Oompa Loompas aren't as bad because it's just one guy made smaller through the computer, but Depp is unbelievably creepy in it to me.

7) Odd numbered volumes
Whether you're in the car or watching tv, the volume needs to be an even number. It just has to be. I've asked my dad to fix the volume before on the tv. This has also been used against me as a joke. I can't explain it, just trust me.

Help yourself and do your own!! And check out Lauren's Blog here =)

wow i'm bad

I'm kind of a terrible blogger apparently.  Im wicked inconsistent with my blogging.  That and I have nothing to blog about.  Welp let me think...

Oh ok, so I got my wisdom teeth out.  Do I feel like I have less wisdom?  No not really.  Haha I know, but someone actually asked me that.  It's been like three days.  I still kinda have chipmunk cheeks, but I've also got this bruise.  It looks like I got punched in the face. I think I've decided to make up a fun story for you about my wicked awesome punch in the face (yup just decided that right this second).

So this kid, let's call her Jane (because a guy would never and should never punch a girl, i hope) got all up in my grill.  That's right all up in my grill.  I was like, "What are you thinkin' gettin' all up in my grill like this, yo?" (because apparently I'm gangsta in my story) "Jane" was like, "You all went and stole my pen!"
"What the flip?!? I never stole no pen of urs!" I exclaimed (and urs is pronounced like that all slurred).
"Yeah you did you flippin' stich!" screamed "Jane" (not the other words, really flippin' and stich.  this was an intense fight can't you tell?).
Then "Jane" goes and punches me right in the lower jaw and runs off. Yup she ran off because I stole her pen. So this is my epic fight that resulted in a bruise and chipmunk cheeks.

I'm a terrible story teller.  I would show evidence of her punch, but seeing as I will not allow many to see me in this condition, I'm going to have to say you'll have to wait to see my pretty face sans chipmunk cheeks. Moral of the story: Don't get in fights and Meghan should not write stories.

Funny Story

So I have a funny story about a Professor.
He taught Calc 1 and Calc 2.  He's Asian (like many Math prof, but they're the best teachers!) and has a strong accent.  I had him two semesters so I got pretty used to his accent.  But because he had an accent, he also mixed up his wording sometimes.  They were the funniest things!!
A friend of mine from class, Kristen, and I would hang out in the Underground Cafe (a little cafe at school that was literally underground, kind of) talking about his funny sayings.

Of course I wrote several of them down.  Of course I'm going to share them with you!!  ;)

Alfaisms if you will.
  • "Cheeseburger and a Jumbo Jet Machine"
  • That's right a cheeseburger AND specifically a JUMBO JET MACHINE
Photobucket
  • "Tell your grandma"
  • She might want to know what you're learning in Calculus
  • "No tricks, no jokes, just pure math"
  • For realzz
  • "You find a skeleton of a dinosaur. In it's stomach you find Calculus book."
  • He was talking about how long Math has been around.
  • "Electric bracelet and I use my Mac to zap you"
  • When we fall asleep
  • "Guessing numbers with Grandma"
  • A fun game for all!!
  • "I just want to train you to be a good spy."
  • See kids Math is actually helpful later on in life!
  • "Sometimes, some cookies are too big to chew"
  • True fact
Photobucket
  • "Substract"
  • Not Subtract
  • "Sweeeeeet"
  • Pronounced "Sweeeeeet"
  • "I do not want answer from heaven"
  • Those lovely answers that just come to you, but you can't quite solve because God helped you out.
  • "Give this guy a Thanksgiving gift for helping you"
  • I'm not sure...
  • "Even though you love math, don't tell your partner you love math so much"
  • They might get jealous
  • "Later you're going to need to build a bridge from Newport to Boston"
  • Again, I'm not sure
  • "Dr. Jekell and Mrs. Hyde"
  • ...
  • "Gramma put GPS on you"
  • For realzz??
  • "Ohhh Maxima. Free"
  • HAHAHA! So Maxima is this free math program we had to download and he was just reflecting on that fact, lol
  • "From polar to rectangular with love"
  • He actually wrote this one on the board
  • "The Wall-E signal"
  • He was talking about satellites and decided it was a signal for Wall-E
So this class was soo great.  Calc 2 was a lot harder so naturally I paid more attention to the funnier stuff.  He really said these things in class.  I think he was just trying to make class more interesting.  He was a great professor!

I'm a Crazy Fangirl and I have a problem

Truth time: I'm Meghan and I'm a Twi-holic.
I'm addicted to Twilight and everything that has to do with it.  It's a legit problem.
I watched the MTV Movie Awards the other night and got excited whenever anything Twilight or Rob Pattinson ever came on the tv.
What to do what to do...

My only solution to the problem is to feed it.  Ok well while I wish that were the case, alas I can not.   I do need to make sure I don't lock myself in my room for three days straight until I finish one of the books (which I've done on multiple occasions).  I need to talk about something other than Twilight with people.  I should stop perusing the Twilight blogs and stop following Twilight people on Twitter.

Of course I'm joking!! I do love me some Twilight on many occasions, but I'm not to the point where I'm a crazy site stalker who has home-made t-shirts and who spends all my money on everything Twilight.  So I don't see my obsession as a bad thing.  I really like it so sue me.

I only have a few Twilight paraphernalia (i.e. Edward poster, Twilight key chain).  I might buy a bag with some quotes on it, maybe.  I plan on going to see New Moon at midnight on November 20, 2009. But that is it.  Nothing too overtly obsessed fan.  I don't plan on going across country or to another state if the cast is going to be anywhere or if there's some kind of event or convention anywhere.  While I would like to, that just can't happen, I won't allow myself to it (plus I'm poor and in college).

So while I'm slightly obsessed and have watched the new New Moon trailer numerous times (with more in my future) I understand what I'm doing.  I'm obsessed, but I still go to work and I went to class and did my homework, so it's on a healthy level.  Love Twilight long time, for realzzz.

I'm pumped for this:
new moon poster

You can watch the trailer here (if you want) =)

(No offense to anyone who has gone across the country for Twilight or on the movie sites.  I'm a little jealous actually.  I love that some people can be soo passionate about something.)

Randomsss

Here is some more random pictures.  When I say random, you're going to be like, "umm what?"
I'm all about the random, hope you get a kick out of them =)

1. In my suite we had one door decorating contest and then another time when we just decorated our door.  Basically, it was just me and my roommate and our RA who decorated our doors.  Oh well we had fun with it.  This first one was all Kayla, I just helped put it all together.

This one was where you decorated with things about you.

Reality Tuesday

Happy Reality TV Tuesday!!!  Every tuesday when I was at school, my roommate Kayla and I would watch American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and Real Housewives of New York.  While I'm not a huge fan of reality tv, this spring I did get hooked onto a few shows.

I actually hate American Idol with a passion.  I watched a little bit of the first season, but couldn't stand it from there on out.  By now I think it's kind of pointless.  It's cruel bringing out the next American Idol when there are all those other people who won, but will always be known as an American Idol.  Ruins careers and ruins lives.  Well maybe not really, but it's getting a little ridiculous. Plus I'm pretty sure Paula is high all the time, she never makes any sense!!
So this season I got hooked in and had my favorites, critiqued their performances, and made fun of their outfits. GO Kris Allen!!

Dancing with the Stars has its moments.  When they have good celebrities on I like it, but they've had some irritating celebrities on there.  But this season was a good one.  Love it!
I'm stuck between two celebrities so I'll cheer for them both.  GO Shawn Johnson!!  GO Gilles Marini!!

Real Housewives of New York is turning into a trainwreck.  It is some great entertainment for realz!
I feel bad for those women sometimes, but sometimes I don't.  So now we have Real Housewives of New Jersey, interesting.

So now while the finales of these shows come around and the new reality shows of the summer start soon, we say good-bye to reality tuesday and remember all the songs sung, dances danced, and crazy cat-fights fought.

Freshmen Year is done!!

WOOOO!!! My freshmen year of college is done!!!! Yeah!!! (Sense the excitement with all the exclamation points)  This year has flown by.  It's soo crazy that I'm moved out, said goodbye to my awesome roommate (I couldn't have asked for anyone better), finished finals (and hopefully passed them), and am now sitting home alone while my parents are camping and my little bro is at his friends house.

I had the craziest day yesterday! It was the longest day of my life!!  This is how it went:
Thursday night I went home to go to the band concert.  So I stayed home over night and studied while I was there. Then I went back to school around 10. I had a final at 11:30.  I took my final, then studied for my other final, took that final, and packed the rest of my room up.  It took me a little while because I was on my own.  I packed the car, but then I had to wait around until 7:30 for the RA to check me out.  My roommate and I were both waiting around so we watched some season 1 of The Office.  Then we were checked out around 8, said our goodbyes (soo sad), and left.  I got home around 9.  It was long and I was tired.

I'm really happy it's finally done.  It's like a giant relief taken off my shoulders.  So now I have the summer to look forward to with my friends and family.  I can't wait to get it started.  Dare I say that I'm looking forward to working again too?? Dare I? Yeah the funds are low.  Ah the life of an end of the semester poor college student =)
